Dr. Lisa Robinson

Dr, Lisa Robinson  committed her life to Christ with her heart, soul, mind and strength at age 13.  This  led to a total transformation. When she was 17 years of age, Sis. Robinson received the call from God to be a laborer in the vineyard. Not yet ready to assume the task before her, she pursued other interests as God waited patiently for her to heed the call. At 21, she accepted the call and began proclaiming the word of God while serving faithfully as a soloist, choir member, usher; Sunday School teacher, youth leader and counselor.

In August, 1995, God used her to plant a new ministry in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant along with another preacher called Safe Haven Ministries, Inc.  She served on the Ordination and Standing Committee of the Metropolitan Association of the United Church of Christ.  She served on the Board of Directors of the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association. She served as an Adjunct Professor at New York Theological Seminary.

In accordance with Scriptures to “be proficient, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-NRSV), Rev. Dr. Lisa Robinson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle, her Master of Divinity degree from New York Theological Seminary and her Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary.

She is married to Sherrell and she has two daughters: an 8 year old named “Diamond” and a 6 year old named “Jasmin.” Her favorite scripture is taken from Mathew 6:33:  But continually seek first the kingdom and God’s righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. (NASB)

We are proud to have Dr. Robinson share her viewpoints with LGBT Faith Leaders of African Descent.
